Good prose which captures the "chicken or beef or will we crash?" feeling to it all. I have to say that I love flying. Firstly, there's the adventure of moving to another country (my last visit was to Tunisia) with a chance to see new things and meet interesting people. The second thrill, and I have to admit this as a post-middle age (forget post-modern) male, is that of taking off. I was a biker for many years and mostly loved the whole experience but especially when you could crack on along a deserted twisty road. Even the most sluggish Jumbo which j...u...s...t about gets airborne before the end of the runway beats that.
