Free Love

As the hippy and “free Love” Movement deloped in the 60′s it started to raise allot of questions to the Mass Media Industry that americans were continuing to conform to. Record numbers of youths were turning up in places like sanfrancisco by Music inspired by the Beatles. Namely the “Summer of Love” that was inspired by the band the Beatles through the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. Protests on the war in vietnam and peace marches were previlant in this era.
Arguably at the time the beatles was a form of mainstream media that was creating a revolution and not conforming to the mainstream capitalist society of america. Thus paradoxically having its core values as non main stream media sure by teh effect it was having on people. ” Make Peace not war”. My main argument is that altghouht the Beatles is now a mainstream piece of media its values and beliefs are not just because of the effect they had on society thus making them an integral part of non main stream media.
I am a chap that really enjoys photography and things that look nice. I am currently on my PGCE year at Bath University which is training me to be a ICT teacher. I love playing rugby and going Kitesurfing in Kenya which is my home away from home.
