Another epic shot of the rift valley but this time down in it. Its amazing as clouds in Kenya are amazing. Please expect a few more to follow.

How would you like them delivered. All together tomorrow or one at a time.. there will be another 2?

Also guess how i did the post processing?

  1. Great clouds, I like cumulus clouds. To be honest I don’t like the processing, for me it takes the attention away from the great clouds.

As far as how you want to present it, I’ll let you choose. :)

Ivar’s last blog post..Spying on Santa

  2. It looks like a texture overlay of some kind. I agree with Ivar, though. It’s a beautiful sky that doesn’t seem to need that sort of treatment. I’m all for experimenting, though!

  3. yeah guys thanks for the honest oppinions i thank and respect them greatly… i have just decided to be a bit more rustic but i agree its a bit much.. and takes away from the clouds.

  4. All i did here was make a duplicate layer and use the darken blend effect then reduce the opacity.. then i used the craqulate filter in PS and thats it really.. oh and also a warming filter..

  5. I agree with others – this postprocessing is too much. I wonder what will you do with the next part of clouds :)

Joanna’s last blog post..Slaughterhouse nr unknown

  6. thanks Joanna for being honest.. ill be getting the rest up soon.. stay tuned

  7. Some textures are really cool, but NOT the default ones in photoshop! You can actually make great textures yourself just by snapping photos of cement and stuff like that. I have a great one (well in my opinion) that I use very sparingly…with a macro set up I shot a blank white wall through the viewfinder of a crappy old camera. I got all the crap from the viewfinder like fibers, dust, and a yellow color cast which I can obviously get rid of if I want to.

You’re onto something…just don’t use the default stuff unless ya want a default look!
