Me on VFXY Photos Photoblogs.org my profile

It was amazing as here in Sunny Bournemouth it has been so cold and cold enough to even freeze the local pond at the park. For me it was such a novelty to walk ice that once was a pond. It did get a bit scary as when some one else came near me it cracked a bit.

The image was just quite special as for this little girl it was the first time as well to walk on a frozen pond.

Do you like the boosted contrast.

  1. This is a beautiful black and white image. Absolutely beautiful. True black. Real highlights. Everything in between, too. I like how you didn’t expose for the kid, and instead the scene. He fits in very well with it. Love the detail on the ice, too.

  2. I think the heavy contrasts here work well with the intense light and reflexions the image presents. Very beautiful winter shot.

  3. The lighting and reflections are truly captivating in this image. The little child adds to the mood and atmosphere of this winter shot. A great job composing this one.

  4. An amazing capture. The tones and sparkling bits coming off the ice are incredible as is the little girl out there finding treasures.

  5. I definitely like the boosted contrast, as it’s not overbearing; it just makes the image take up the whole range, if you know what I mean.

  6. Hey, Westy! As you were asking, I almost didn’t alter my cat photos. They’re direct scans from processed Fuji films. Anyway, if you’re very interested in processing, I recommend http://www.presetsheaven.com/. Enjoy your trials. :)
