Thick Kenyan Kikuyu Grass

By Landscape, Nature149 Comments

This is some thick kenyan kikuyu grass that was taking in nairobi in my lovely home. The sun was setting and it was rather nice as the green grass created a filter effect.

I added a gausian blur and then merged the two layers with the multiply function in Photoshop. I also added a subtle lense flare as it complimented the current one.

Kitesurfing | Kite Jumping | UK Hengistbury Head

By Cool Things, Me123 Comments

Me and my mate luke whent for a spot of kitesurfing but it was a tad bit windy to be frank and gusty as well as me not being aqaunted with this old Wipika Kite I rescued by fishemans walk. It was jolly fun and rather scary at times as i have not flown this type of old kite that was like being tied to the back of a lorry when it powered up.

Next time i will have to actually go out onto the water and try them out just it was a bit wavey for me and i had never flown this old kite before…

I cant wait to get a new bow kite so if any one else knows of a good deal then please say…

please say what you think of the jumps….

Long Grass

This was taken at Hengistbury Head where there is allot of long grass. I have boosted the tones and shadows with the levels function and then de-saturated slightly.

New Photo Blog www.trcwest.com/photoblog/

By Coding, Cool Things, Design, photography130 Comments

Hey every one i have just set up a new photoblog as i was inspired by eight6.com’s theme Monotone

It is a really cool theme that

Monotone takes the first image attached to a post and samples colors from it for use in the surrounding layout.

Basically it is like a cool little photo blog that is like a Chameleon and adapts to each photo and puts the sole focus on the image in the post. not more rubbish tiny images that are not framed right.

As you can see it beautifully chooses the most dominant colour theme in the Photo

Really nice interface… simple and powerful

I must say now i take my hat of to Noel Jackson director of Eight 6 for developing this cool theme and also for the help that he gave me. He was kind enough to sift through my feeble attempts to fix a .htaccess issue and rename and re point to the right directory as it was in a sub folder. Basically the .htaccess file and the  thumb.php are important and need to be set up right if not using it in a stand alone directory.

It would be great to hear some feed back about peoples photo blogs and what ones they like using???

Please let me know what you think of mine and my images??

Thanks again Noel
