Same as ttaT This image was taken with the revers lens trick effect. This is basically taking the camera lens off your SLR and turning it upside down.. then you have to focus by moving the lens and keeping it steady for the shot. Its often a hit or miss shot but when it works its beautiful as you can see the above image is just of some text on a piece of paper that you can even see the pixels of the ink jet..
I left it blue as thats how it came out just changed the levels to the right exposure..

Thoughts on this technique??

Horizon: The President’s Guide to Science: Christian Review against Dawkins

By Beliefs, ChristianityNo Comments

Tonight i watched an incredibly well made documentary on BBC on channel 2 at 9 pm. It was very well shot and the cinematography was outstanding… Please read down and on for my point of view on the content and message.

I started watching it and just liked the look and the way it was put together and wasn’t taking much notice of what content was being said as they had some great shots and montages of equations and cityscape’s

and an interesting way of using screens to show parts of the documentary.

I Have only just got back from  and i don’t actually watch much tele?? i know its strange but seems i just don’t as not much of it meets my fancy but this definitely did. It was so nice to watch and see all the uses of clever camera work and shots to make it look so professional and sleek. Below is one of my favorite shots.

The use of blur pull focus and depth of field was excellent and just choosing some great stock footage was also important to the way this moved along.

I didn’t start taking in what was actually being said until they started going into the biology part of this argument and i was shocked to hear what i heard. It was from a particularly biased view point and this was the evolutionist one. I would like to say that I am no scientist and that i don’t know half as much as these clever guys but i do know  one thing and that is that God does exists and that he created this world that we live in as you read this.

I found it very interesting that Evolution was presented by Richard Dawkins as a fact and that, I quote, ” In order not to believe in Evolutions you must be either Ignorant, Stupid or Insane” These are very strong words and rather insulting really as though i don’t have a clear line on this i do know that we were created in the Image of God and that means that we did not derive from shell fish.

Earlier in the Documentary he says that “evolution is the only way to explain the illusion of design that we se in the living world” to me this is completely wrong as he is obviously acknowlaging that ther is design but stating that it is an illusion. This seems to contradictory as he would obviously argue against the fact that there is Intelligent design.

What ever the process i believe that we have a creator and that God has intelligently designed every single one of us and that this world surely can have just come about due to chance and that we cant have just morphed into what we are as incredible beings purely out of what is virtually nothing, single cell organisms.

The other really astonishing statement is that he dismisses that every soul is unique and just fluffs away that idea by saying that because something doesn’t suffer it is ok to kill an unborn baby that could grow up to be the next president of the United States. This is a terrible things as if you based life on this fact then it would mean it would be ok to shoot someone in the head with a sniper. Surely that’s ok as the person would not have suffered as they have not know its pretty instant a shot to the head. Surely not??

Also i think that it is very sad that he is ruling out God by saying that the day Darwin brought out the book on the origin of species 150 years ago on a Thursday… does this mean he existed before that??

You can find the video at this link

I am no obscuratist but i do feel that things need to be addressed as people are being fed one point of view and not the other side of the argument and the truth is that we are are loved and created by God and that he did send his son Jesus Christ to Die on the Cross for us.

Please do let me know what you think and what your thoughts are on the matters above christian or non christian.

Artcaffe Nairobi Personal Review | Trendy cafe Nairobi Art Cafe

By Cool Things, Hot Spots, Me, PersonalNo Comments
As i write this i am sitting in the new hip trendy artcafe in nairobi… I am on the internet for 2 KES a minute and have just finished my tasty De-caffe Mochanino. It was rather good… a bit sweet so i asked for a litle bit of frothed milk and that made it perfect…
Me in artcaffe

Its really trendy in here and the décor is on par with European standards. It is situated in

the Westgate shopping mall and has been going for 8 months now…. the things that makes it is the flooring and the simple design of the lighting and cream colours…

Art Caffe Floor
Art Caffe Nairobi Inside

The staff are friendly and the service is pretty good but I doo feel that it a bit of an over kill with more than 15 people on the floor at one point.. i think that if they had some serious training and concentrated on fewer then that might raise the standards. I would be happy working here it must be one of the trendiest jobs in the country..

Series Of Moon Light Photographs of the Indian Ocean

By Me, photographyNo Comments

Please view the finals of this page on PHOTONOMY https://trcwest.com/photoblog/

Here we have a series of moon light images of the Indian ocean.. These were taken on the full moon period and have come out quite nicely…

  1. Firstly i have cropped the images down so that they framed the horizon better using the rule of thirds.
  2. Secondly i have used the New Adjustment Layer feature to make layers that can be changed these include the black and white feature and the levels and the photo filter effect. They have to be layered in such a way that allows the photo filter to take effect look at this layers tab if you want to try..
Picture 2.png
  • Also note that i have used the unsharp mask which ads more details to digital pictures and allows a more crisper image. The reduce noise was applied to the top as it was quite grainy due to the High ISO rating..
  • Here are the original images so that you can see where i go them from… Note here is the Meta DATA
Picture 3.png

Pleas also note that you can click on the images and they will pop up in light-box, a nice full size preview..

  1. First Edit Of the above with a WARMING filter on the image below.. these images look even better when original and full resolution… i admit that their is too much noise..
Indian_Ocean2.jpg
2.  Below is a sepia toned one that is more subtle.. which do people prefer

Indian_Ocean3.jpg

3.  Here below we have a blue moon lit one that is quite strong also

Indian_Ocean4.jpg

New Style below like looking through a telescope with strong vignetting

I feel that i like the one below the best as it is simple and more appealing to the eye.. simple black and white effect here..

This one is to create the effect of the sun setting with a strong warming filter.

Indian_Ocean_Ver2_3.jpg

Again another strong blue moonlit filter.

Indian_Ocean_Ver2_4.jpg

So all in all that was a few that i have edited up… they are not the most conventional images and not the most safe either, as far as styles i think that i may have over done it a bit but the psds are still there and actually look much better than these but i have got his far so i might as well post this.. Dont get me wrong i do like these but i just wanted a challenge and this is what i came out with..
So please comment and tell me what you think… and dont forget to check out the photo blog…
oops i almost for got this one… a first time edit.

Beauty is not always clear. Which one.

By portraitsNo Comments

I have been working on a few images this evening from my holiday in diani. This is one image that many would maybe discard… but i figured i would give it a chance…
Here’s the original.. as i took it…. coming to look at it again i do actually like it how it is but i did some editing and tweaking…

160808_0679.jpg

Below is what i came up with first time round… its a desaturated with the hue changed to make it look more like moon light… there is also a layer blend going on here that makes it a bit softer..

hanah-diani-beach2.jpg

After a wee bit i decided to go for a cropped down version of the images and then really wanted to make things look really pixelate and soft… the bottom one here is the one i have put on my photo blog… https://trcwest.com/photoblog/
I think that it works best as it compliments her physic a wee bit more…

hanah-diani-beach4.jpg
Just a bit to harsh but the colours are nice…
hanah-diani-beach5.jpg

So a few questions…. 1) which one do people like?? 2) what effect works best?? 3) who do you think it is??
Please take the time to comment… i would really appreciate it.
